Demon Slayer

Hey guys, welcome to my review on Demon Slayer!

Here's some info about the story and characters before I jump into things.

Premise:

"Tanjiro Kamado is a kind-hearted and intelligent boy who lives with his family in the mountains. He has become his family's sole source of income after the passing of his father. Everything changes when he comes home one day to discover that his family has been attacked and slaughtered by a demon. Tanjiro and his sister, Nezuko are the sole survivors of the incident, with Nezuko being transformed into a demon, but still surprisingly showing signs of human emotion and thought. After an encounter with Giyū Tomioka, a demon slayer, Tanjiro is recruited by him and sent to be taught by Sakonji Urokodaki, another member of the Demon Slayer Corps, to also become a demon slayer, and begins his quest to help his sister turn human again and avenge the deaths of the rest of his family." Review:

In the world of Demon Slayer, humans and demons have not coexisted in harmony together for centuries. The reason for this is because demons are former humans who sold their humanity in exchange for power. They feed on humans to possess supernatural abilities such as super strength, magic, and regeneration. Demons have been known to be the natural enemies of humans. As we follow Nezuko and Tanjiro on their quest to revert her back to a human. They are the first demon and human in history to prove not all demons are senseless killers that can live with one another.

As I saw the journey of these two unfold, this anime is more than just fictional characters fighting the antagonist. The story touches on the topics of different races and human compassion. Through Tanjiro, as the viewer, you can sympathize with some of the demons. You feel pity for the demons that are in anguish after they are slain. Their most vulnerable and regretful last moments as a human are shown before they disappear. Demon Slayer has a nice balance of comedy, adventure, and having your heartstrings pulled. Give this show a watch if this sounded interesting enough for you, haha.

  5. I have heard a lot of good things about Demon Slayer and reading your review makes me want to start this show even more. I just finished watching Attack on Titan and was looking for another anime that was similar and I think this is the perfect one. This anime sounds like it has a deeper meaning to it rather than pure action and violence which is nice.
