The 100

The 100 series official posters.

Synopsis:

Ninety-seven years after a devastating nuclear apocalypse wipes out almost all life on Earth, thousands of people now live in a space station orbiting Earth, which they call the Ark. Three generations have been born in space, but when life-support systems on the Ark begin to fail, one hundred juvenile detainees are sent to Earth in a last attempt to determine whether it is habitable, or at least save resources for the remaining residents of the Ark. They discover that some survived the apocalypse: the Grounders, who live in clans locked in a power struggle; the Reapers, another group of grounders who have been turned into cannibals by the Mountain Men; and the Mountain Men, who live in Mount Weather, descended from those who locked themselves away before the apocalypse. Under the leadership of Bellamy and Clarke, the juveniles attempt to survive the harsh surface conditions, battle hostile grounders and establish communication with the Ark. (Wikipedia)

Review:

The 100 is such a wild and chaotic series! If you want to see action, drama, dystopian, post-apocalyptic, and science fiction all in one, then this is the show, folks. You'll feel all kinds of emotions while you watch this. Let me tell you—I was thrilled, annoyed, and angry at certain characters for their actions during this series. Who knew watching the fate of humanity fight against each other for survival while trying to coexist would be so entertaining.

I became obsessed with this show when season 2 started. I found that season to be the most riveting part of the storyline. So many shocking and unbelievable events happen to our main cast. After the events of season 2 is when the characters' personalities and development drastically change and grow.

I also gotta say in my review, there were times when some of the seasons felt tiresomely repetitive. As the story progresses, you'll notice the characters are constantly running into problems. Right when you think they resolved or made peace with it, another enemy would show up to test them. You'll also sadly lose some of your favorite characters along the way. But seasons 5-7 will reignite the excitement you originally had at the beginning of the series.

This blog post is quite lengthy, and I'm not sure how to end it. If you've seen the show, what are your thoughts? One last thing, Bellamy deserved better, and I wish Clexa didn't end so soon.

Season 1 Highlights:

Comments

  1. I love this series! I think the first time I watched it in 2019. I love the first to third seasons the most. So far I have watched it until season 6 (I can't binge anymore due to a lot of assignments :(, but will do soon!) I recommend everybody to watch the 100! - Winnie

  2. This show is pretty much apart of me growing up like I started watching it when it first came out and I have been loyal to it ever since. Ive got the be honest though this most recent season wasn't my favorite and I felt slightly let down.
