Queer Eye

Happy Pride Month! As a part of the LGBTQ+ community, I would like to share the shows I enjoyed with queer representation. :) This week, I'll be starting off with Queer Eye (2018 TV series). This Netflix series is a reboot of Bravo's 2003 Queer Eye.

Summary:

Meet the new Fab Five: Antoni Porowski, food and wine expert; Tan France, fashion expert; Karamo Brown, culture expert; Bobby Berk, design expert; and Jonathan Van Ness, grooming expert. (Wikipedia)

Each episode features a team of gay professionals in the fields of fashion, personal grooming, interior design, entertaining and culture collectively known as the "Fab Five" performing a makeover (in the parlance of the show, a "make-better"), usually for a heterosexual (straight) man: revamping wardrobe, redecorating, and offering advice on grooming, lifestyle, and food. Review:

 Queer Eye is a wonderful show with a great message behind each episode. The advice the Fab Five gives to the individual focuses on improving their lifestyle and self-worth. What I like about this reboot is that in the later seasons, you'll see the Fab Five not only help straight men but also women and queer people. The reveal of each makeover transformation is always crazy and exciting to see.  This is a feel-good show and it's always cute to see people with low self-esteem gain confidence in themselves.

One last thing I would like to say is this quote from Karamo. This quote is something I think everyone should think about:

    Great Review Hannah!!! Especially for Pride Month. I really like this show but I like the cast even more. It really focuses on how they are really trying to help people, not just rearrange their living room. And Karamo is my absolute favorite. If you haven’t cried at least once because of this man. They go deep sometimes. Keep up the great Blog !!! Summer semester is almost over!!!

Two Sentence Horror Stories

   Summary:  Two Sentence Horror Stories is an anthology horror television series. Each episode is 20 minutes long and has a different plot every time. It currently has two seasons available and is an ongoing series. Review:   Don't let this show's name fool you. The word "horror" is in its name, but every episode I've seen feels more creepy than scary. Two Sentence Horror Stories is a series that doesn't require you to commit to watching every single episode. There is no specific storyline or recurring characters. If you've seen another Netflix show called "Black Mirror," this series gives off the same vibes. I recommend watching this if you're in the mood to be spooked but not terrified. Since every episode is different, you'll see various scenarios of characters encountering possible killers, the paranormal, or non-human figures. Hello hello!  If you're a fan of comedy, action, and unexpected turns of events then you'll love to watch Vincenzo. This South Korean drama series has a well-written storyline that was executed with an amazing cast. I was invested in the show by the end of the first episode and it was hard to resist clicking the "next episode" button each time. These episodes aren't short and I watched them in several parts but that didn't stop me from enjoying the series.
